Steven R. Quimby, M.D.

Dr. Quimby grew up in Clinton, IL and attended Illinois State University. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut and his M.D. from the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Ct. in 1976.

He completed two years in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a three year residency in Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While a resident at Mayo he received the Paul A. O'Leary Award for excellence in patient care.

Dr. Quimby was previously on the consulting staff of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and in Scottsdale, AZ and served as chairman of the Dermatology department at Mayo Scottsdale from 1996-97. After practicing in Bloomington-Normal from 1991-1996, Dr. Quimby established Quimby Dermatology in 1997. He is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Quimby has taught at the University of Illinois and Mayo Medical Schools

While at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ he updated and enlarged the Cutaneous Laser Surgery Department.

He has done research with major pharmaceutical companies on Alphahydroxy Acids and retinoids in sun damage.

He has participated in, and helped to organize free community Skin Cancer Screenings.
